Moncton barista wins seat in a national coffee competition
The Moncton barista recently had the opportunity to showcase his coffee know-how at a qualifying event in Toronto. In August, the Connor Conway finishes in 6th place and represents New Brunswick at the National Barista Championship in Vancouver. Owners of the Moncton Epoch Chemistry Coffee House had to compete for the jury in espresso, milk drinks, and specialty drinks and serve 12 drinks in 15 minutes.
Conway said he was the first qualified New Brunswick barista and had some stigma on East Coast specialty coffee.
He plans to get Canada’s best drinks in Vancouver this summer.
“A lot of our latte art here is highly regarded. Our whole team here is good at providing an Instagram moment with coffee. We want to take our customers on a journey. Wherever you want to go, we want to meet you there. If you’re a triple/triple Tim’s drinker or if you’re an experienced coffee drinker, we’re going to meet you where you are,” says Conway.
